Since 1995, HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center has been a place of healing, connection, and growth for individuals across the North Carolina Piedmont Triad community. Established as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, HORSEPOWER has spent decades harnessing the incredible power of horses to uplift and empower those in need. As a PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Premier Accredited Center, we are committed to the highest standards of therapeutic equine care and support, offering transformative programs to individuals with diverse abilities. Over the years, HORSEPOWER has grown into a safe haven and a joyful community, where resilience is celebrated, laughter fills the air, and compassionate connections are forged daily.
HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in the North Carolina Piedmont Triad community through therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted activities. Since 1995, HORSEPOWER has welcomed individuals of all backgrounds, creating a heartwarming atmosphere that empowers, nurtures, and uplifts.
As a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center, we serve over 300 individuals each year, providing a supportive environment for people with physical, intellectual, emotional, and social disabilities. Our programs welcome participants facing challenges such as multiple sclerosis, autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, and Down syndrome. We are also honored to support veterans, individuals who have experienced trauma or abuse, and able-bodied students seeking leadership and team-building experiences.
Our mission is to promote and enhance the welfare of all participants through therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities with horses. At HORSEPOWER, we believe in the power of mindful connection and the unifying spirit that horses bring to our community. Every moment spent on our farm, whether riding or volunteering, is a celebration of strength, joy, and resilience—a journey we proudly share with our extended HORSEPOWER family.
